The Dangers of Yohimbe

The Dangers of Yohimbine

Yohimbine, also known as yohimbe, has been trumpeted as the Natural Viagra. It sounds great, from what you've heard - harder erections than you've ever imagined. But with a long list of dangerous side effects, you'll hardly be in the mood for sex even if your body's telling you otherwise.

Yohimbe is the bark of a west-African evergreen tree that yohimbine, the active ingredient, is derived from. Yohimbine is the extract used for pharmaceutical purposes, and is the active ingredient in curing cases of male impotence. While it is being used for this function, yohimbine has not officially been approved as an erectile dysfunction medication, despite it being a prescription-only drug. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis.

In no circumstance should yohimbine be taken if you are on anti-depressants. Others who should especially avoid yohimbine are those who suffer from angina, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, or mental illnesses including depression.
There have been no official studies of yohimbe, the bark that contains a small amount of yohimbine.

The effectiveness of yohimbine have been inconclusive, and somewhere between 10-30% of men experienced side effects in the studies. Side effects include, but are not limited to: dizziness, vomiting, headache, tremors, anxiety, irritability, sweating and restlessness. It is possible to overdose on yohimbine with serious consequences. The side effects are usually mild and short-lived.

It is possible to overdose on yohimbine; seek immediate medical attention if you suffer from irregular or fast heartbeat, confusion or abnormal behaviour, or any sort of allergic reaction.

There's no need to lose hope though. There are a number of plants that have been used as aphrodisiacs for thousands of years all over the world that deliver results. Try an all-natural male enhancement supplement, like Enzyte. It's 17 ingredients include saw palmetto, zinc, horny goat weed, tribulus, and L-arginine, to name a few. Just one pill daily delivers harder, longer erections. Better yet, they're completely safe - no side effects at all.
